Medawar Jewelers Robbery Suspects Arraigned On Five Charges

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On Wednesday July 12th, 2017 two suspects were arraigned on five charges each in relation to the robbery that happened at Medawar Jewelers in Okemos on Monday July 10,2017. Nicholas Sergei Beauman, age 22, from Haslett and Cosette Jozelle Shreve, age 20, from Wixom, were arraigned at the 55th District Court. Both suspects are being charged with one count of Armed Robbery, two counts of Unlawful Imprisonment, one count of Receiving and Concealing Stolen Vehicle and one count of Weapons Felony Firearm-Pneumatic Gun. Beauman and Shreve are currently being held at Ingham County Jail without bond.

ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At 10:41am on Monday July 10th, Meridian Township Police responded to an armed robbery at Medawar Jewelers located at 2168 W. Grand River Avenue. Store employees we're held at gunpoint while the two suspects gathered an undisclosed amount of jewelry. The two suspects fled the scene on a moped for a shot distance before abandoning the vehicle and continuing to flee on foot. The suspects were traveling west of Okemos Road, south of the railroad tracks. Police blocked off that section of Okemos Road as they searched for the suspects.

Meridian Township Police said the suspects were found in a heavily wooded area that afternoon after an extensive search. The suspects are one female with short brown hair and one male, both suspects seen wearing a white t-shirt. The suspects are currently being held at Ingham County Jail pending charges.

The East Lansing Police Department, Lansing Police Department, Ingham County Sheriff's Office, Michigan State University Police, and Michigan Sate Police assisted the Meridian Township Police Department.
