Suspect Arraigned in Maru Sushi Armed Robbery

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - On February 27, 2017, Lorenzo Russey was arraigned in 55th District Court for the armed robbery of Maru Sushi and Grill Restaurant. The charges are three counts of armed robbery and one count of a felony firearm. He is currently at the Ingham County Jail with a $75,000 bond.




ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Maru Sushi and Grill Restaurant at 5100 Marsh Road reported a robbery to the Meridian Township Police Department on Saturday, February 18, 2017 just minutes before 11p.m. The suspect entered the restaurant after hours and displayed a hand gun. After taking some cash the suspect fled on foot.

East Lansing Police, Ingham County Sheriffs Department, Michigan Sate Police and Michigan Sate University Police assisted Meridian Police with the investigation. A canine track was lead, but was unsuccessful.

The suspect’s face was covered , but was described as a black male wearing a blue jacket and black jeans. The Meridian Township Police Department has no further comment at this time
