MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the Township Board meeting on Tuesday, March 20, many residents came to speak out about the potential rezoning near Hulett Road and the North side of Robin's Way. Many residents have also attended Planning Commission meetings as well to voice their opinions.
Many residents are displeased over the fact that the wetlands, which are in most of their backyards, will be built over.
Many residents that live there are concerned with building over wetlands because it will be taking away many animals' homes. Another concern is many residents do not believe there is enough space to build homes in that area. Building more homes would also bring more traffic which the residents do not want.
Trustee Phil Deschaine said there is a lack of compelling reason to rezone this from rural residential to single family-low density and he doesn't support it.
