New Committee to Make Parks More Accessible

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Park Commission, together with the Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Department, is creating a new committee to make the Township's parks more accessible.

All parks in the Township have some features that are approved by the Americans with Disabilities Act but the Park Commission is striving to go beyond the minimum requirements.

The committee will be reviewing all parks and will pay special attention to future plans to develop accessible play and exercise equipment at Towner Road Park in Haslett.

All interested community members willing to serve on the Meridian Universal Access Advisory Committee should contact Jane Greenway, Senior Parks and Land Management Coordinator at greenway@meridian.mi.us or call 517.853.4610.
