EAST LANSING - Walnut Hills Country Club is off the market after a local family has purchased the old club and its surrounding property.
Greg and Dawn Williams, the new proud owners, purchased the property for the purpose of building a private home.
“Dawn and I feel very fortunate to purchase this property and look forward to making this our home,” said Greg Williams.
The local family wants to preserve nostalgia and has secured many personal artifacts from the country club. One artifact the couple mentioned preserving are the original locker doors that are labeled with names.
“Walnut Hills was an important piece of the Meridian Township community for decades,” said Greg Williams. “While it’s unfortunate that years of vacancy have led to severe disrepair, our plan is to have the property mesh with the surrounding neighborhoods by using it for a private residence.”
Once the retrievable artifacts are all collected, the family plans to make arrangements with the country clubs past members to retrieve the memorabilia.
