HASLETT, MI - On Saturday September 21st, the Will Goodale Memorial Foundation held it's second Annual King of Kickball Fun Day at Towner Road Park in Haslett to honor Will Goodale who always wanted to be a police officer and swat-team member for the Meridian Township or Michigan State Police. Foundation Founders and Will's parents Shane and Ronda Goodale spoke a few words for the opening ceremony of the event. This year the Will Goodale Memorial Foundation had it's first Scholarship and was given to Adam Johnston who is attending the police academy, and will be using the money for tuition and school expenses. There were food trucks available as well as music, and a inflatable area for younger children to enjoy. Several teams came to participate in this years tournament, including HOMTV and the Meridian Township Police.

Ronda Goodale, Will's Mother said, "it was nice to see returning teams this year and new faces and just knowing people are coming here for Will. Honoring him and his dreams and spirits to become a police officer."

Will's Father, Shane Goodale said, "this just shows the support were getting from the community, and all the teams that are here and the businesses that supported us, I think it's a real statement of who my son was and what were doing for him. This points out to us that were doing the right thing towards him, because his name and face is known through out the area, everyone is talking about him. Today we were able to offer the first scholarship to a police academy student. Today was a good day. Also compared to last year we had a trophy created for the King of Kickball Fun Day were just like last year, we had the teams pick who their King or Queen just like Will, who was considered the King of Kickball. The person that is chosen will have their name engraved on the trophy, so that's going to be a continued yearly thing were going to do. This just proves the support is there."

Shane Goodale said the main goal, along with his Wife Ronda, "was to keep Will's face and name in their mouth and their minds and that's what were doing today. The community has really been involved and I'm really looking forward to next year. It turned out to be a good day. The kids are having fun, so it's a win, win. My son he's looking down; smile."

At the end of tournament, The Meridian Township Police came out on top as the new champion of Kickball for 2019, and David King was chosen as their King and crowned by Ronda Goodale, ending the event with a group photo with the crown and trophy in hand.
