EAST LANSING - A new musical is coming to the Wharton Center's stage,. 'One Good Day is musical that takes from several romantic comedies including 'Sleepless in Seattle,' 'When Harry Met Sally,' and 'You've Got Mail.'
The musical will be coming to Wharton Center's Pasant Theatre as apart of the ĭmáGen collaboration between MSU College of Arts a& Letters Department of Theatre and Wharton Center Institute for Arts & Creativity.
For the last few years, ĭmáGen has been selecting a new musical to present under the direction of Broadway directors and stars.
The program brings high school and college students together to collaborate with Broadway professionals for this new musical.
"At first it's super scary because everyone is super experienced and talented and everyone is warming up to each other and now everyone is super nice and inviting and it's just really good space," high school sophomore, Emma Maki said.
The creative team behind One Good Day is almost all women, which includes the composer Rona Siddiqui, the director Kate Wetherhead and
the lyricist and book writer Liz Suggs.
"Being here at MSU has been so dreamy, they've just given us all of the resources in the world, the students are crazy professional and we get to see our show up on stage for the first time," composer of One Good Day, Rona Siddiqui told us.
