Transportation Commission Discusses Clean Energy

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Transportation Commission recently gathered to discuss a climate sustainability plan for Meridian Township.

The Township Board passed the plan in October of 2017.

Meridian Township Recycling & Energy Coordinator LeRoy Harvey presented the Meridian Township Transportation Commission with ambitious, but he said achievable goals to help the Township lower it's carbon footprint, and provide clean, renewable energy for the Township.

The goals include obtaining fifty percent of the Township's energy from renewable sources by the year 2025, and 100 percent renewable energy by 2035.
