UPDATE: HASLETT - Last week was quite important for American’s everywhere.
I’m sure you’ve heard, it was constitution week, a time to learn and understand more about our government.

Ralya Elementary third grade teacher, John Penn, says he’s taking advantage of the celebration keeping class geared towards focusing on the foundation of our great country, the Constitution. His class had the opportunity to read children’s book’s explaining what the constitution is and how it affects us as American’s. They also watched “This is America Charlie Brown, the Birth of the Constitution” and played an interactive computer game, teaching the students about the different branches of government.

Penn said, “This is one of the greatest governments ever formed and you wanna keep that goin and so they can pass it on down to their children just like we’re passing it on down to them.”

Mr. Penn went on to say their study of the constitution will ultimately lead up to the class field trip in December when they will head to the Michigan State Supreme Court.
