UPDATE: LANSING - May is national bike month, so in hopes to raise cycling awareness on May sixteenth at seven p.m. bicyclists everywhere will be taking to the streets for the tenth annual worldwide event, Ride of Silence. You can join the world in east lansing to remember and honor all those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roads. The free event promotes five cycling rules: Be seen, go with the flow, follow the rules, be considerate, and do what cars do.

Tim Potter, MSU Bike Service Center Manager, said, "we ride from campus, Beaumont Tower, leave at 7 o’clock sharp. But, we start here at the Bike Service Center, get here by 6:30, so you can sign in and hear the instructions. But, we ride from Beaumont Tower, around campus, around East Lansing, and go down to the capitol where we stop and tell some stories and talk a little bit and then we ride back to campus.”

East Lansing and Lansing Police will be escorting riders along the nine mile route. Also, Helmets are mandatory for all riders.
