UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The first grant is for Wonch Park to construct a loop pathway around the park. For Hillbrook Park they want to put in some new playground equipment and landscape, which they are taking a more natural approach with.

"What that means is taking advantage of nature's elements.  That's what kids enjoy the most. Is jumping in puddles kicking a log find rocks, looking for different leaves, things like that.  We'll still have some play structures but they'll look more natural, like toad stools you can hop across, a log that you can crawl through." Say Jane Greenway, Parks and Land Management Coordinator.

The grant for Wonch Park will be the Michigan Natural Resource Grant and the grant for Hillbrook Park will be the Recreation Passport Grant.
