'Empty the Shelter' Event at Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter

INGHAM COUNTY - The Ingham County Animal Control and Shelter (ICACS) is working alongside around 180 shelters throughout the U.S. in the national "Empty the Shelters" event from Oct. 4 through Oct. 9.

Sponsored by BISSELL Pet Foundation, adoption fees are reduced as follows:
- Dogs are $25
- Cats are $10
- Senior/long-term resident cats are free

Heidi Williams, the director at ICACS, said the shelter participated with the event in the past and they had success.

"Events like these help bring in potential adopters and make room in our shelter so we're able to bring in animals we may not have been able to before and find them forever homes too," Williams said.

ICACS is open from Monday to Saturday from 10:30 am to 5:00 pm. It is located at 600 Buhl St., Mason, MI 48854.
