OKEMOS, MI - Most people associate Halloween with blood, gore, monsters and fear. Harris Nature Center's Halloween Adventures left out the horror and focused on family fun for all age groups.

Kids dressed up in their favorite Halloween costumes, painted pumpkins, played games and even partook in a hayride through the autumn woods. It was the perfect weather for the event, not your typical cold and brisk weather for your Halloween excursions.

Warm apple cider, cookies, brownies, and apples were all available as a treats for all the guests that attended the enjoyable event. Multiple pumpkins were strategically placed through the event and throughout the faux pumpkin patch. Families were able to bring home their pumpkins.

Halloween Adventures received many donations from community members, stores and organizations. East Lansing's "Whole Foods" donated apple cider, apples and gift cards to the grocery store to all the family members who registered for the annual Halloween event. While, Barkham Creek Farms and Titus Farms supplied all of the pumpkins for the event. Senior Park Naturalist for Meridian Township Kit Rich says that she is thankful for all of the donations for the event.

Despite the sunny and warm weather, there was still an opportunity to roast marshmallows over the campfire.
