MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Rosemarie M Gregg, owner of Pilates Silver Sensations Studio, clipped the big red ribbon opening her business to the public for the first time.
The studio is located at 4964 Northwind Dr near Hobby Lobby.
Gregg says she originally got into pilates after herniating two disks in her back resulting in her being hospitalized for severe back pains.
"When I got out, I started researching and I didn't know anything about pilates and everything pointed to pilates for low back pain," said Gregg. "So I started going twice a week and within in four months all of my symptoms were gone. And that's what made me seriously become a pilates instructor."
Gregg says many of the exercises done in her class benefit those with lower back pain. Because of this she gets a lot of clients from all different facets of the sports world.
The classes offered range from Stott pilates mat classes, Stott pilates reformer classes, and even Vinyasa yoga.
And for students in the area, there is a student discount.
The store not only offers class packages but also retails Lucy Activewear.
Friday, Sept. 5, Gregg entertained guests at the pilates studio's grand opening with wine and cheese while educating guests on what the business offers and how they can get involved.
