UPDATE:
MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Ingham County Road Commission is hoping to start work on the Van Atta Bridge in February making it into a two lane wide, hundred foot long bridge that will straddle existing bridge foundations. It's expected to take about four months. Residents were invited to a meeting to voice their concerns and to learn more about how the construction would affect them.
"Well I think there was a good conversation tonight, a lot of good ideas were raised. I think the project design team did a good job answering questions. There's always issues, pros and cons to everything the balance of the environmental fetters in the area with the desire of non motorized transportation." Said Bill Conklin, Managing Director of the Ingham County Road Department.
Van Atta Road will be closed to traffic at the work zone during construction. But residents will always be able to access their property from at least on direction.
