MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Let the procrastinators of the world rejoice. A last minute farmers' market is bustling with shoppers buying some produce before the Thanksgiving meal.
The Meridian Township Farmers' Market annual "Day Before Thanksgiving Market" sells a variety of products including fresh produce, soap, baked good, crafts and more.
Typically the Market is open on Saturdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, but November 24 is a unique occasion where the market open on Wednesday.
Tom Cary, the Market Manager, shares how that tradition came to be, "It originally started with a vendor who had turkeys for sale the day before Thanksgiving. Then other vendor started coming. That vendor is no longer here, but there's still interest in doing a day before Thanksgiving Market."
