OKEMOS, MI - Native American Heritage Month is celebrated throughout the entire month of November, but thanks to the Nokomis Cultural Heritage Center, community members are able to learn about Native American heritage throughout the entire year.
The Nokomis Cultural Heritage Center began in 1989 as the Nokomis Learning Center. The purpose of the center is to preserve the history, culture, arts and language of the Anishinaabe people of the Great Lakes Region.
