MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Fire Department purchased a new ATV to get ahead of fires and bring more residents to safety. Within the past year, dry weather has caused more fires in the county and the fire department used most of its resources.
The ATV will be used on all trails and parks in the Township. It will also be used for areas where Township residents would have to be carried out by hand. The ATV has the ability to load people on the back of the vehicle and transport them to an ambulance. The ultimate goal of the ATV is to protect residents from injuries on and off the road as well as stopping any fires in the Township.
For more information or questions about the ATV, please contact the Meridian Township Fire Department at 517.853.4700.
