BATH - A celebratory breakfast was held at the Michigan Wildlife Conservancy in Bath for the 110th Anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.

The celebration also honored two special guests, Autumn Eyre and Reagan Woods, who are members of the first inaugural class of female Eagle Scouts. They are also the first two female Eagle Scouts in the Lansing Area and belong to Troop 164G.

Woods explained that scouting has been part of who she is throughout her entire life.

“My dad, my uncles and my grandpa were all Eagle Scouts, so it's always been a prominent part of my life, and it was something that I never got to do because I was a female,” she said.

Woods is grateful for her experience with scouting and hopes to inspire younger scouts.

“As you grow older, you get to help the younger scouts do the same thing you do and continue the impact of what you learned,” she said.

Donors, including staff from Sparrow Medical Group, attended the event to honor the history and support the future of scouting. Woods explained that scouting does not end once you earn your Eagle.

“I think the greatest thing we can do is continue our impact even as we begin to age out, continue to be there for our scouts and continuing training scouts, influencing other scouts and bringing scouting to the world.”
