EAST LANSING - On September 13th at the Wharton Center in East Lansing, MSU students and high school students came together to rehearsal at the Pasant Theatre for the new upcoming Broadway Musical Dr. Fox And The Impossible Cure For Death through the annual program, ĭmáGen, a colloboration between the Wharton Center Institute for Arts & Creativity and MSU College Arts an Letters.
This musical special has many guest artist such as Benedict Braxton-Smith and Megan Peterson the book writers for Dr. Fox And The Impossible Cure For Death, including actor Ben Roseberry, actress Susan O'dea, the Director Timothy Koch, Stage Manager Paige Conway and Musical Director Siani Tabak.
Tabak said, "I think arts are extremely important for students and the community. It gives them an outlet to do things they don't normally do. It creates a safe environment for people to experience emotions and feelings. I think it's helpful to do that in the context of art and it let's the students have a safe space so that when those things kind of come up in their lives, they might be more prepared for them."
Tabak also added, "It's also a great way to develop a sense of community. You get to work together, the theater is so collaborative and you can't do it on your own. It builds teamwork and just a really collaborative environment."
Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at the ticket office or on their website whartoncenter.com. Student discounts are available and will be showing Saturday September 21st, at 7:30 pm and Sunday September 22nd at 2:00 pm.
