OKEMOS - With the preparation work for the Village of Okemos Redevelopment Project in full swing, we bring you another update this afternoon.

Today the construction crew is working on installing hand rails around the sheet metal that was installed early last week. The hand rails are for the workers once a 15 foot hole is dug into the ground allowing them to get in and out of the hole with ease and safety.

Consumers Energy was on site permanently fixing a gas leak that was previously temporarily patched.

The first building to be torn down previously stood as a dry cleaner. Demolition for this building is tentatively set for August 5th.
