EAST LANSING - Theater fans can sit back and relax because the wait is over. The Wharton Center announced its season schedule for 2018-2019, including Broadway hits, Broadway classics, lectures, family events and performances ranging from classical to dance and more.
A highlight of the upcoming season is the production of "Hamilton: An American Musical." Since its debut in New York City in 2015, the history-meets-rap musical has gone on to win 11 Tony Awards and sell out dozens of shows. This Broadway musical will run from May 14-June 2 and tickets are expected to sell for a few hundred dollars.
Dewey Finn will hit the stage at the Wharton Center from Sept. 18-23. The rock star wannabe-turned substitute teacher will jam with his students in the musical "School of Rock."
Other productions taking the stage in the upcoming season include "Love Never Dies," "Fiddler on the Roof," "The Magic School Bus: Lost in the Solar System" and "Junie B. Jones."
Besides Broadway productions, there will be performances by Renee Fleming, National Symphony of Romania, Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and more.
Tickets are on sale for a few performances, with more expected to follow.
