MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - For many, a mid-summer vacation is the perfect getaway from everyday life. However, when traveling in the summer, it is important to remember a few safety tips.
First, always lock all doors before you leave to ensure your house stays secure. If possible, tell a trusted neighbor where you are going, and to watch for any suspicious activity while you are gone.
Once you are on the road, remember to set aside all distractions such as phones, eating, or changing the radio. No text is worth your life.
Finally, remember never to leave children unattended in the car. Even if the windows are down, or the temperatures are in the 70’s, children’s body temperatures rise 3-5 faster than adults. This can quickly lead to a fatal situation. Never assume it is not too hot out.
With these tips in mind, stay safe, stay cool, and happy traveling.
