Meridian Spooktacular Adventures

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Halloween came a little early to the Township with the annual Meridian Spooktacular Adventures.

The Meridian Historical Village and Farmer's Market were a part of the fun as kids and parents toured around the village and sampled some fresh foods at the market.

For over 25 years, the police department has been a part of the Spooktacular event, giving tours, raffles, and of course cider and donuts.

"I'm going to see the police station; I'm going to drink some apple cider and eat some donuts. I'm going to have a lot of fun," explained young participant Jackson.

And while fun was vital, it was essential to learn and remember some Halloween safety tips.

Meridian Police Captain Greg Frenger explained, "We give out Halloween glow sticks for our children who come to the event for them to wear to give them a little bit of extra lighting, so they're safe. Just keep close tabs on your children and the safest thing you can do is be with them and keep them close."

In just across from the police station, kids were able to enjoy a few activities hosted by the local Girl Scout troops. From a doughnut eating contest to reading a few fortunes.

"We want to empower young women to make a difference in the world, leave things better than they found them, and spread responsibility and join in their community, so being here with the girl scouts is especially important," said Volunteer Andrea.

Just down the hall in the kids were able to visit HOMTV.

Meridian Spooktacular adventure gave participants the chance to go anywhere they wanted inside of HOMTV studios. From Gotham City to Hogwarts.

Reading teleprompters, enjoying the blue screen to even going behind the scenes to see the magic happen, kids were able to do it all the while trick or treating.
