Meridian Township Police Department Welcomes New Officer

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Police Department just welcomed their 36th officer to the team. A Swearing-In Ceremony was held for new Officer Stephanie Lewis. Fellow Officers, Township Staff and family members were in attendance for the ceremony.

Lewis said she's wanted to be a police officer since she was little and has been working long and hard to achieve just that. Lewis explained, "since I started college I majored in criminal justice and my goal was to get through the police academy and then get my degree and that's how that happened." Lewis graduated from the Delta College Police Academy and Saginaw Valley State University.

Lewis now make 36 out of the 39 officers the Meridian Township Police Department is authorized to have.
