Subdivision Water & Sewage

Subdivision Water & Sewage

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The recent failure of a resident's septic tank lead to a review of plans to extend public water and sewage to the Greenwood Subdivision. The Department of Public Works and Engineering initiated the review which lead to a request to extend public utilities to the neighborhood before other septic tanks fail.

The proposed plan would extend public sewage and water lines that residents in the neighborhood could opt to use. If residents are happy with their current septic system, the plan does not require them to hook up to the public sewage for a period of time or in the event that their system fails.

Meridian Township's Planning Commission recently reviewed the proposed plans for the sewer and public water additions and agreed that it complies to the township's master plan.
The commission supported that the location, character, and extent of the proposed lines allow plans to be taken to the next step for the Township Board.
