Wonch Park Improvements Celebrated at
Ribbon Cutting Event

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Wonch Park has renovations to celebrate. On August 23rd Meridian Township Parks and Recreation and the community did just that with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The park now features a brand new pavilion, an outdoor fitness zone, a community mural and sand volleyball courts.

Wonch Park is one of the oldest parks in Meridian Township, being created in 1969 with many initial developments from the early 70s.

These additions were made possible by the Park Millage, Meridian Township General Fund and a Greenfields Grant.

Meridian Township Parks and Recreation Director LuAnn Maisner said these improvements make for a playground for adults.

"We just hope people start coming and enjoying our parks," she said, "We offer some amenities that are going to draw people in and be park users. That's what we are really looking for to get people engage and start using our facilities."
