Haslett High School Awarded STEM
Grant

HASLETT - Science students at Haslett High School are excited to get their hands on some new laptops this year.

The school was awarded a STEM grant in December to buy those new computers. School officials saying the funding couldn't have come at a better time, with the science department's budget getting slimmer every year.

Students are getting eager to try the new laptops out.

“The students are very excited to have them. A lot of times the laptops are not available because other people are using them. Students like using them for virtual labs and simulations; and now that will always be available. We won’t have to miss a project because the technology is not available" said science teacher Dan Kohler.

Seven other mid-Michigan school districts got a similar grant including: East Lansing, Holt, Mason, and Williamston Public Schools.

All of the grants combined totaled over $50,000.
