Christmas Tree Recycling

Christmas Tree Recycling

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - For more than 30 years, the Meridian Township Recycling Center has been offering residents the option to recycle their holiday Christmas trees.

Beginning at the end of December and continuing until the end of January, residents of Meridian Township can drop off old trees at two different locations in the Township for free. Those two locations are Wonch Park and Nancy Moore Park, both off of Okemos Road. Residents can also call Granger to come pick up their tree, or take their tree to the Recycling Center located on Lake Drive. Both of these options will require a fee. Trees should be FREE of wire, metal bracing or nails and MUST NOT be in a plastic bag.

"We hope that residents find out about the convenient options," said LeRoy Harvey, Energy & Recycling Coordinator for Meridian Township. "One of the nice things about having a drop-off site is that it's more efficient."

The Recycling Center is also taking new materials besides Christmas trees. Different types of plastics are just a few of the new materials accepted.
