Christmas In The Village

Christmas In The Village

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The buildings in Meridian Township's Historical Village had their doors propped open to the public December 11th for their annual holiday event.

The Friends of Historic Meridian hosts "Christmas in the Village" each year to educate both adults and children of what Meridian Township was like about 100 years ago during the holiday season. The activities ranged from arts & crafts, caroling, a visit from Santa and even chestnut roasting in the old barn.

“Today's children, and adult children, come through the village and see Santa and all the activities that we have going on. They learn that it was much different back then, and I think they walk away with a greater appreciation of what they have today," said Jane Rose, Executive Director of the village.

Rose says Christmas in the Village has been going on for more 20 years, and the tradition won't end anytime soon.
