Sweep Season Series

HASLETT - Haslett (13-3), coming off an incredible comeback over Holt Tuesday night, fell flat Friday as red hot Saint Johns (13-3) came into town. Point guard Maddie Maloney and stellar team defense led the Red Wings to a suffocating, 48-38, slugfest win.

Maloney had it going all night, scoring from inside and out and dealing some crisp assists.

After a 25-point performance against Holt, Haslett senior Megan Mowid continued her magic against Saint Johns, leading the Vikings to a five-point lead at the end of the first half, but could not continue the production in the second. Saint Johns outscored Haslett, 28-13, in the second half.

The Red Wings defense has now kept opposing offenses to less than 40 point in four straight games and nine total times this season.

Saint Johns has Haslett's' number. The girls in red rolled over the Vikings on January 8, 52-40, giving the Vikings two of their three total losses this year.
