MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - After two years of construction, the Whole Foods on Grand River Avenue is in its final stages.

Residents of Meridian Township may have seen the exterior of this supermarket chain specializing in organic food, but the construction of the interior has begun.

"We are excited that Whole Foods is doing interior work in the building right now to set up their stands, shelving, lights and everything that makes the story work. We have seen more activity there in the last two months than we have seen in the last year. So they will be working in there throughout the winter for a spring opening," said Peter Menser, Meridian Township Associate Planner.
