Zoning Board of Appeals Approves Lake Lansing Sailing Club Variance

Zoning Board of Appeals Approves Lake
Lansing Sailing Club Variance

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Meridian Township Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously voted for a variance request from the Lake Lansing Sailing Club. The request was granted to build a new shed on the Sailing Club's property at the October 14 meeting.

Zoning Board of Appeals member, Kenneth Lane further explained the approved motion saying, "The configuration of the property and the requirements relating to where they can store the boats, made it appropriate for the Zoning Board to approve the variance so they could essentially put the new shed in the same location as the two old ones."

The smaller shed currently on the property is not in good condition. If it were to fall down, it would damage the boats next to it.

The new shed will be used mainly during the winter to store boats the club uses in the summer for sailing lessons.
