• Kids floating through the Okemos homecoming parade

OKEMOS - At 5:30 pm the floats started rolling from Meridian Christian Church to Okemos High School to kick off the Chiefs homecoming parade. Not just high schoolers, but kids of all ages could be seen on the floats, representing their Chieftain pride and throwing candy everywhere. Literally, candy was chucked everywhere.

Kickoff arrived, shortly after, as the Chiefs (0-5) looked to take its first win on the season against Jackson (3-2). The spirit seemed to be working through the early part of the third quarter as a minor, 16-10, deficit was all Okemos needed to overcome. A fumble from Jackson, and the Chiefs looked to be in business, but the offense stalled soon after.

The Vikings, however, just began to get their's going.

Quarterback Lajuan Bramlett gets the refs to put their hands up on a 1-yard quarterback sneak, after a bomb to wide receiver Maseo Moore put them in scoring position. They go for two and get it.

That would be all the Vikings would need to put this one away as the defense held strong. A few scores later, and Jackson ends it going away, 37-10.
