UPDATE: OKEMOS - There where more than 14 different teams at the Haslett-Okemos Relay for Life event last weekend, all there for one purpose to raise awareness and donations for the fight to stop cancer. Colin Donaldson was one of the participants. He was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of 7 he has been participating in Relay for Life. His team Okemos Kids Club raised $7500 for the event this year. Sonia Fineout is a first time particpant and spent most of her time trading off and walking on the track. Also a survivor of cancer, Sonia walks for a purpose. Relay for life isn't just a walk its a for a purpose.
Kristen Adams Community organizer at the American Cancer Society states,
"Cancer never sleeps so neither will we so we do a 24 hour walk to signify that"
Meridianrelay.org is still accepting donations until August.
