Lugnuts Drop 2nd straight Following the
All-Star Break

LANSING - The Lansing Lugnuts dropped their 2nd straight game to the West Michigan Whitecaps Friday night at Cooley Law School Stadium.

Whitecaps 2nd baseman, Joey Pankake hit a solo homer to left field to tie the game at 4-4. Then the Whitecaps seized control of the game with a 4-run 8th inning to seal an 8-4 victory.

Lugnuts centerfielder D.J. Davis was a home run short of hitting for the cycle.

"I was seeing the ball really good tonight," said Davis. "I just tried to hit the ones I could and ones I couldn't just lay off of them."

While first baseman Ryan McBroom finished the game with 2 RBIs and made a nice defensive play when he barehanded a Whitecaps bunt attempt and threw out the runner at home plate.

The Lugnuts have two more games to go with the Whitecaps before they begin a 5-game road trip in South Bend.
