Capital Improvement Projects-What's To
Come?

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Capital improvement projects are currently underway this summer featuring major improvements in the Meridian Township Municipal Building and Service Center.

The Town Hall renovations in the Municipal Building are currently in progress and will feature new carpet and a fresh coat of paint.

Township Manager Frank Walsh gives us an idea of what else is to come in the municipal building, "town hall room, some of the restrooms here in the building, the roof at the service center, the roof at the north fire station, the improvements to the parking lot here at the Municipal Building, all those were be finished this year. Probably within 8-10 weeks."

The Municipal and Service Center parking lot will feature new LED lights and a repaving bid is currently being evaluated by the engineering department.

Aside from Municipal Building improvements, Meridian Township will see many more capital improvement renovations in the future.

Associate Planner Rick Brown explains, "there’s a number of park improvements planned over the next few years, there’s a number of water line and sewer line improvements and/or additions. Some projects like a storage building.”

Amidst these new renovations, Frank Walsh would like to remind everybody, "while it's always glamorous to build new things, it's also important to take care of what you have."
