• Okemos captain Conner George knocks in the game-winner

OKEMOS - On Senior Night, captain Conner George did it again. George's second buzzer-beating game-winner this season gave the Chiefs a, 40-38, win over St Johns.

George finished the night with a game-leading 21 points. Nothing new here.

The senior and his team had to be clutch all night at the free throw line in one of the lowest-scoring, slow-paced high school basketball games one will ever watch. The 78-point total marked the lowest-scoring game Okemos had been in all season.

Okemos finishes its regular season, 12-8, and hosts (Lansing) Waverly, 12-8, in the MHSAA quarterfinals Monday at 7pm.

Waverly finished its regular season with a road win over East Lansing, 64-53. East Lansing swept Okemos in the regular season.
