Three Local Organizations Finalists in
Flagstar Bank's Michigan Makeover
Campaign

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Three local organizations are competing for a chance to win a grant from Flagstar Bank.

Harris Nature Center, Parkwood YMCA, and the Meridian Township Economic Development Corporation (EDC) are the finalists in Flagstar's Michigan Makeover campaign.

According to a Flagstar press release, "the program awards a $5,000 grant to a local revitalization project."

Harris Nature Center's proposal is to build a gathering circle that would be used as an outdoor classroom and amphitheater.

The Parkwood YMCA is proposing to incorporate exercise stations along their network of public trails that run west of Okemos Road and north of Haslett Road.

According to MIMakeovers.com, "the stations would include stretching areas, pull-up bars, and low balance beams."

The Meridian Township EDC is proposing to add benches along the Grand River Corridor. The EDC would also sponsor a campaign to have the benches painted with a "We Love Meridian" theme.

The public will decide who will win the grant, and can vote at MIMakeovers.com or at the Flagstar branch in Okemos located at 1801 W. Grand River Ave.

The winner will be announced on March 16.
