MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - The Harris Nature Center Foundation helps support and fund projects to supplement the Harris Nature Center programs.

The Foundation's first completed project was the Turtle Sculpture and are currently working on their biggest project to date, the Nature Exploration Area (NEA). According to the President of the Harris Nature Center Foundation, the NEA is meant to be an interactive and active area in the woods near the Harris Nature Center, adjoining the trails.

Other elements within the project include Log Jam, Fossil Dig and a 16,500 dollar project called the Gathering Circle. The foundation is receiving numerous donations in order to complete these projects, according to Robbins.
