MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A new salon opened in Meridian Township this week. Fluid, located on Grand River Avenue near Hobby Lobby and Golden Wok, is now open for business.

Chris Buck, Chair of the Meridian Township Economic Development Corporation, owns the salon with his wife, Martha. They are very excited to be invested in Fluid, and they are more than confident in the group of stylists who will be running the salon.

“I found these five ladies I call the ‘Fab Five’ that were looking for a great place to set up camp and do work,” said Chris Buck. “It turns out that they had bounced around from salon to salon, and were really trying to find a place that felt right… and a place where they felt like they had the support they needed to be successful business women.”

The stylists will be offering services such as manicures, pedicures, up-dos, coloring, and more.

“We’ve been working really hard for a long time to try to get the opportunity to be somewhere where we’re really proud of working, and can bring our clients,” said Kimmi Chubb, a stylist and member of the ‘Fab Five.’ “Chris and Martha have given us that opportunity, and we’re just really excited to work hard and bring a great salon to the East Lansing community.”

Meridian Township has seen in influx of new businesses this year, including Fluid and New Thai Kitchen, with many more to come. Flagstar Bank will be holding their ribbon cutting and grand opening on Wednesday, February 4th, marking yet another new business opening their doors.
