Mobile Restaurants & Regulation

Mobile Restaurants & Regulation

UPDATE: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - When lunch rolls around, so do the mobile restaurants.

Meridian Township is working on a policy for mobile food vendors such as The Purple Carrot which we found at the Hannah Plaza in East Lansing. These types of restaurants are growing in that area not only in numbers, but in popularity. Meridian wants to make sure that the rights of those vendors and the residents in the area are in the right place.

Research is still being done as to what kind of policy should be made. After the policy is written it still needs to be passed my board members.

ORIGINAL STORY: MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - As the popularity in mobile restaurants finds the Meridian Area, so do the regulations. The type of policy that will be put into place for these vendors is still undecided. What we do know is that soon, in order for these vendors to be in Meridian Township, they will need to register for a license and confirm that they have a permit from the Ingham County Health Commission. They will have all the same regulations and health checks as regular restaurants.
