MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - A few firefighters in Meridian Township were recently promoted.

Firefighter Bill Richards was promoted to Captain, Rudy Gonzalez was promoted to Lieutenant and Trevor Banker completed his training and received the distinction of becoming a full-time firefighter. Four part-time paramedic firefighters were also sworn in.

Fire Chief, Fred Cowper, states that it is difficult to achieve positions like these and firefighters go through intense training and must have a tool box of high skills in order to succeed.
