MSU Football Gets A Homecoming Victory

EAST LANSING - For the second straight week the Spartans ended with a dominant performance over their oppoenents.

This time, they walked away with a 56-14 victory over Wyoming.

MSU played strong on both sides of the ball with the defense coming up with a total of six sacks, two fumble recoveries and one interception.

Special teams also came up with a blocked field goal.

As all Spartan fans remember, this time last year was a struggle when it came to generating offense.

This year is looking quite different as the offense generated 42 points in just one half of play.

"You have got to remember where we were last year," MSU Head Coach Mark Dantonio said. "We had no identity at tight end and no identity at tailback coming into the season. We were struggling at wide receiver and also we had a quarter back situation we had some competition. I think all of those things were solved over the course of last year."

After Saturday's game MSU quarterbacks have thrown for a combined total of just over one thousand yards and 11 touchdowns.

Running backs have also rushed for over one thousand yards and 16 touchdowns.

Both are off to a tremendously better start than last season.

the Spartans are currently ranked number 10 and will continue play on Saturday Oct. 4 against Nebraska for MSU's first conference game.
