OKEMOS - Adam Nevelles an Okemos High School student was tragically killed 2 years ago in a car accident outside of Okemos High School.
It is unclear whether or not Nevells was distracted at the time of the accident or if he came to a complete stop before turning out.
HOMTV spoke with Meridian Township Police Departments Lieutenant Greg Frenger. He told us that when a driver is entering any road way that they must make a complete stop. He also stated that drivers are encouraged to look both ways at a roadway stop before pulling away.
Officer Frenger said that there are several things that drivers do that they may not be aware of that can distract them.
