MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - Summer is upon us and that means everyone will be rolling out the grills to enjoy great food under the sun. But with every grill comes risks, and everyone should follow these 4 rules so that they can enjoy grilling without issue.

First, you must make sure to keep the grill away from your home. The heat could melt your house siding and catch fire.

Second, make sure to keep flammable objects away from the grill, such as lighter fluid and cooking oils. They could catch fire and possibly explode.

Third, check that the propane line is secure before turning it on. If you spray water on the connection, it will bubble if there is propane leaking. Always check before you turn it on.

Finally, maintain your grill. Keep it clean! Make sure the grill surface is scraped after every use and the burners are clear of debris. A clean grill is a happy grill!
