OKEMOS - With the renovation to the Van Atta bridge comes another way to cruise around town.

A canoe launch based off Harris Nature Center will connect the park to Red Cedar River and Ferguson Park canoe launch.

The new location, close to the Harris Nature Center driveway, will offer a more convenient location to pull over, drop of canoes, and park safely in the parking lot, instead of on the side of the road.

The launch will open once the bridge is completed between the end of May or beginning of June.
