Fire Station Decision Pushed Back to January of 2014

Fire Station Decision Pushed Back to
January of 2014

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - At the December 9th Planning Commission meeting, members discussed why the request to construct a fire station won't be brought back before the commission until in January of 2014.

Meridian Township Principal Planner, Gail Oranchak explained to the Planning Commission that the main reason why this issue was pushed back is because there must be at least 15 days in between a hearing and the next meeting to give enough notice to the public about the agenda and the hearings involved.

With that being said, there was not enough time in between meetings for this issue to be on the agenda as soon as everyone anticipated.

Concerns arose from some members of the public in regards to the date being pushed back mainly because of the potential change of commissioners in the new year.
