Jack Wallace Back As Okemos Football Coach

Jack Wallace Back As Okemos Football
Coach

OKEMOS - Jack Wallace will be "renewing his duties" as head football coach at Okemos High School, according to Athletic Director Ira Childress.

Wallace was not with the team this past week, but has rejoined and will take over from Interim Coach Mike Krum.

Childress released a statement explaining the situation.

"As all of us have reflected on the recent events regarding our football program and the status of our varsity football coach, it was clear that the unintended outcome was a result of a flawed process and poor communication between the parties," Childress explained. "Mr. Wallace believed he had been terminated as the varsity football coach. The District believed Mr. Wallace had resigned from his position. Neither of these were accurate beliefs."

"Therefore, further communication was initiated to resolve the matter," Childress continued. "As a result of this communication, it has been established that Mr. Wallace is and remains the varsity football coach. He was neither fired, nor did he resign. This was communicated to the team on Monday at practice. Mr. Wallace has resumed his coaching responsibilities."
