A Community Celebrates the End of
Construction

MERIDIAN TOWNSHIP - If you live in Meridian Township, chances are you travel down Grand River or Michigan Avenue quite often.

It's been a long summer filled with construction machines, traffic cones, closed roads, and construction workers all up and down these two roads.

On Tuesday, September 24, people gathered to celebrate the end of construction that began in the Spring and just recently finished.

It was a project that was finished ahead of schedule and in one construction season. Before the ribbon was cut, representatives from MDOT spoke about how proud they were of the workers, government, and community as a whole for coming together and making this such a successful project.

Some improvements include better intersections, bike lanes, resurfaced road, and enhanced turning lanes. The improvements will better the safety for pedestrians, motorists, and cyclists that travel these two busy roads.
